Chateau Desclau sits on the right hand bank of the Garonne, one of Bordeauxs two major rivers and responsible for the early morning fog which cloaks the region for much of the year. The Chateaux has a wide selection of the Bordeaux varietals and this wine is a blend of all 5 legal varietals; Merlot, Cabernet Sauvingnon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This wine is classified as a Bordeaux superieur wine which mans that the wine must be stored for at least a year at the Chateau before it can be sold which allows the wine to mature and be ready to drink as soon as it leaves the Chateau gates.

When William Jacob first surveyed the Barossa Region in 1839, he and his brother John took up land in the Hundred of Moorooroo. Moorooroo is derived from an aboriginal word meaning ‘meeting of two waters'. The two waters involved were the North Para River and creek, which fed into it. The creek was later renamed Jacob's Creek after William Jacob and the Jacob brothers' small cottages still stand, overlooking Jacob's Creek. His first vintage was in 1850, and he continued to make wine in his small ironstone winery beside Jacob's Creek until his death at the age of 84. Today the traditions and quality set by the brothers is still jealously guarded and have led them to become Australias most sucessful wine producer.

Veuve Clicquot's famous Yellow Label is one of the best loved and best selling Champagnes in the UK, famed for its rich, biscuity aromas and smooth, full-bodied taste.
 
The House of Clicquot owes its fame to the founder's remarkable and audacious daughter-in-law, Nicole Barbe Clicquot. Father and son, John and Brent Marris have been at the forefront of Kiwi winemaking from the word go. Back in the 1970s John was one of the first farmers to plant vines in Marlborough and a bit later on Brent became one of the first New Zealanders to graduate from Adelaide's Roseworthy College. Returning to Marlborough, Brent founded Wither Hills using his father's fruit and quickly built a formidable reputation for his wines. Today Wither Hills are regarded as benchmark producers for Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
